FC Twente coach Steve McClaren welcomes Serbian defender Slobodan Rajkovic back into his squad for their crucial Europa League visit to Steaua Bucharest.
Rajkovic has been sidelined for three and a half months after undergoing hernia surgery following the Eredivisie clash with Feyenoord on August 30.
While the 20-year-old is unlikely to start on Thursday, he is likely to get a chance from the bench as he seeks to return to full match fitness.
"Maybe it will be too much of a risk to play him from the start as he has been out for so long,'' McClaren confirmed.
McClaren will also be without Brazilian defender Douglas, who is suspended, with Nicky Kuiper expected to deputise.
The Eredivisie leaders, who come into the game on the back of a 3-1 victory over NEC Breda at the weekend, know a victory in the Romanian capital will secure their passage through to the last 16 as runners-up to group winners Fenerbahce.
Anything other than a win will see the Enschede outfit hoping Moldova's FC Sheriff Tiraspol fail to secure three points from their visit to the Turkish club.
The two sides drew 0-0 when they met on matchday two in Group H and former England manager McClaren will be hoping his side can improve on that performance.
The visitors are also likely to have to contend with heavy snowfall and freezing conditions at the Stadionul Steaua.
Twente's hosts have not won in 11 matches in European club competition, with their last victory being a 3-0 result over Swedish side Halmstad in the UEFA Cup in 2005, and they sacked Italian coach Cristiano Bergodi following their 0-0 draw with FC Sheriff in September.
His replacement, Mihai Stoichita, has overseen a good run of domestic form since which sees them level on points with Unirea Urziceni and CFR Cluj at the top of Premier League.
They will be without Portugal defender Miguel Tininho against Twente. He has had his contract terminated by mutual consent after failing to settle following his summer move from Belenenses.
